Just Cabinets Furniture & More donates more than $80,000 to St. Judes

Just Cabinets Furniture & More donated $80,519.74 to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as part of the company's 2009 Just Cause campaign. Just Cause is Just Cabinets' way of giving back to its communities and customers. Initially a store-by store program of winter coat drives, holiday turkey donations and similar charitable efforts, the concept was expanded chain-wide in 2007, with Habitat for Humanity as the designated charity partner.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was chosen as the 2009 Just Cause charity at the beginning of the year. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is dedicated to finding a cure for cancer and cancer-related illnesses. Doctors there treat some of the sickest young patients and handle the toughest cases, and the hospital provides a home away from home for patients' families. Perhaps, most impressive is that St. Jude provides care at no cost to the families to ensure no child is left behind. In fact, St. Jude is the second largest health care charity in the United States.

Stephen Ginter, Senior Event Marketing Representative for St. Jude's said "We are grateful for the support of the Just Cabinets Furniture & More company, employees, and all of their customers over the past year in raising more than $80,000 to support the life-saving work being done at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We are incredibly fortunate to have such passionate individuals dedicated to the cause of St. Jude, and because of their efforts, we can continue to work towards the day where we can put an end to childhood cancer for good."

Just Cabinets Furniture & More set a goal to raise $50,000 at the start of 2009 Just Cause Campaign. Just Cabinets pledged to match customer donations dollar for dollar, up to a total of $20,000. Just Cabinet employees set out to raise $8,000 to be matched by the company and its president. Within six months, donations exceeded the original $50,000 goal; to keep the momentum going, the goal was raised to $100,000.

"We set a lofty goal to raise $50,000 at the start of the 2009 Just Cause campaign," said Ted Bernstein, Just Cabinets Furniture & More CEO and President. "We met that goal within six months and by year's end exceeded it by more than $30,000! Considering the current state of the economy, the generosity of our customers and employees is truly commendable. We're thrilled to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the wonderful work they do treating children with cancer and other illnesses. I want to thank all of our employees and customers for their tremendous generosity"

The year long, chain-wide campaign featured a number of fundraising initiatives. Just Cabinets' customers were introduced to the campaign through in-store signage and a 60-minute educational DVD, which described the facility, its work and philosophy and played in a continuous loop on several television sets in each store. Customers were invited to make donations at the register: Contributions from the chain's customers totaled $37,000. Just Cabinets pledged and contributed an additional $20,000 in matching funds.

In addition, the $8,000 contributed by Just Cabinets Furniture & More employees was matched 50% by the company and 50% personally by Just Cabinets' President Ted Bernstein, bringing the Just Cabinets matching funds total to $28,000.

Among the other fundraising events held throughout the year was the first ever Just Cause Golf Tournament on September 1, 2009 in Gettysburg. The event was a tremendous success drawing more than seventy avid and amateur golfers and adding another $6,200 to the campaign coffers. Just Cabinets employees and management also participated the St. Jude Give Thanks 5K Walk at the Harrisburg Mall, and held in-store fundraising contests.

Factory-Direct Cabinet and Furniture Retailer Expands into New Jersey with Budget-Friendly Product Lines

RTA Distributors, Inc., dba Just Cabinets Furniture & More, is opening a huge new store in Mays Landing, New Jersey on October 8, 2009. The 27,000-square-foot location at 220 Consumer Square marks the first venture for Just Cabinets outside its Eastern Pennsylvania/Maryland/ Delaware footprint.

While other retailers are experiencing a difficult time and cutting jobs, Just Cabinets seeks opportunities to expand.

"In sluggish economic times, like we've seen in the past year, our value proposition really hits home," says President Ted Bernstein. "Our customers demand quality furnishings and good deals. Just Cabinets Furniture & More was built on that principle and we are committed to maintaining that position."

The company traditionally has been cautious to expand, choosing heavy-trafficked and highly visible locations. The Mays Landing location is a big win, with Just Cabinets netting both a prime location and an under-served market for cabinets and home furnishings.

In addition to moving into new territory geographically, Just Cabinets is offering some unique products tailored to meet the needs of its new customers. The regional cabinet and furniture retailer will be offering a specially selected product line to appeal to the Atlantic City-area shopper, and it includes a number of products not offered in other Just Cabinets locations.

"I love that Just Cabinets is factory-direct. That means we can offer unparalleled cabinet selection at unbeatable prices," says Store Manager Christine Bayer. "Plus, our store has Medallion and Prestige Cabinets, which are only available at select Just Cabinets locations. I am excited to be leading the team here. From my experience, we're filling a niche that was missing for home furnishings shoppers in this market."

Grand opening activities will kick off at 8:30 a.m. on October 8, 2009, with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Guests will also be treated to fresh-baked cookies; balloons for the kids; free gifts and giveaways; and chances to win $5,000 in free furniture.

Employment, corporate and product information is available on the Company's website: www.justcabinets.com.

Just Cabinets Surpasses Goal of 50K for St. Jude Children's Hospital in First Half of Year with Help from Customers

"The response has been tremendous," says Ted Bernstein, president of Just Cabinets Furniture & More

Four months ago, Just Cabinets' fundraising campaign, Just Cause, took on a new challenge, raising $50,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. As with previous campaigns, Just Caused reached its goal, but in half the time.

"We're extremely impressed with the results we've seen so far from Just Cabinets' employees and customers in our fundraising efforts for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital," said Ted Berstein, president of Just Cabinets. "The response has been tremendous, especially considering the current economy. We hope the support will continue through year's end."

This achievement comes with a special thanks to store locations in Frederick, Brooklyn Park and Hagerstown, Md., Lancaster, Mechanicsburg, Wyomissing and Scranton, Pa., each of which have raised more than $1,000 in customer contributions. Throughout the first three months of the campaign, Just Cabinets stores have been raising funds at a pace of around $1,000 per week. At this rate, they will be on target to achieve their new goal of $100,000.

Two years ago, Just Cabinets was looking for a way to give back to the community. Just Cause, a company-wide fundraising campaign that benefits important causes, was the perfect combination of community support and positive impact by the company. Last year, Just Cause raised $36,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This year, they've teamed up with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to raise money to benefit children with cancer.

Just Cabinets has always strived to give back to communities and customers, but decided to make it official with Just Cause, a fundraising committee, in 2007 by supporting Habitat for Humanity. They have since chosen a charity each year as a focus of their fundraising initiatives.

All 20 Just Cabinets stores from Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware are participating in the Just Cause campaign. Contributions from past fundraising initiatives included donations from vendors, customers and employees, who even donated part of their own paychecks. Just Cabinets matches all donations, by employees and customers, dollar-for-dollar.

Just Cabinets', established in 1982, currently operates 20 stores across Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. The company plans on opening its first store in New Jersey at the Wrangle Bros Consumer Square in Mays Landing. Slated to open in October, the Mays Landing store presents future opportunities for the company to spread its Just Cause campaign and open more Just Cabinets locations in south and central New Jersey.

Just Cabinets Committed to Breast Cancer Fight in 2008 with $36,000 Raised for Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Just Cabinets partners with the top breast cancer fighters and matches all donations from 2008 giving

Just Cabinets went pink in 2008, joining the fight against breast cancer by partnering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Just Cabinets picked a charity they felt touched everyone last year by funding the largest nonprofit breast cancer organization, and raised $36,000 from the campaign's launch on July 15 to benefit the Philadelphia, Northeastern PA and Maryland affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The Philadelphia, Northeastern Pennsylvania and Maryland Just Cabinets affiliates joined in the 2008 fundraising initiative. Contributions to the cure included donations from vendors, customers and employees, who even donated part of their own paychecks. Customers helped to fight breast cancer with their purchase of Komen for the Cure specialty items and their generous contributions at store registers. Just Cabinets matched all donations, by employees and customers, dollar-for-dollar.

Lorri Bernstein, Director of Development of Just Cause, says, "Unfortunately, it was hard for us to think of anyone who hasn't been affected, in some way, by this disease, which is why all our customers and employees were especially eager to participate. We couldn't stress the universal relevance of the fight against breast cancer enough, and were honored to take part in the noble movement this memorial foundation has led for years. Our giving was in remembrance of those lost, but most importantly, in recognition of our hope for a future without breast cancer."

Just Cabinets has always strived to give back to communities and customers, but decided to make it official with Just Cause, a fundraising committee, in 2007 by supporting Habitat for Humanity. They have chosen a charity each year as a focus of their fundraising initiatives.

For their 2009 campaign, Just Cause is excited to work with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
