Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation^® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish^® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation^® was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 250,000 children around the world.

What is Just Cause?

“Just Cause” is a way for Just Cabinets Furniture & More and our employees to give back to our communities and to those in need. One of our earliest organized efforts raised funds for The American Red Cross in response to the 9/11 disaster. We continued the momentum on a store-by-store basis with winter coat drives, holiday turkey donations and a fundraiser for recovery efforts in support of the 2004 South Asian tsunami.

Everyone was enthusiastic about these programs, so in 2007, we decided to formalize the concept by creating the Just Cause Charitable Fund. In that year, Habitat for Humanity became Just Cause’s first official charity partner. A cabinet-related promotion just eight weeks in duration resulted in donations of more than $33,000 to our local Habitat chapters. • Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation – In 2000, 4-year-old cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004) announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital – their mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. • Susan G. Komen for the Cure – the global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1.9 billion since inception in 1982.
